August 26, 2008 Viz Pictures is teaming up with NCM Fathom to bring Death Note II: The Last Name to almost 400 theaters across the US. The two-night event will take place on October 15 and 16 at 7:30pm, and tickets can be purchase in advance starting on Septermber 5th. Shonen Jump newsletter subscribers can get an early jump on everyone else as far as tickets go on August 29, so if you’re keen on getting your tickets now, now, now, then you can subscribe via this link.
Screenings of The Last Note will also be accompanied by some behind the scenes stuff with an interview with director of this and the first film, Shusuke Kaneko (Gamera trilogy, Azumi 2), as well as a look at the film’s creation.
