2012: Do You Remember? A Decade Ago in Anime

2012: Do You Remember? A Decade Ago in Anime2012 was ten years ago? Nah, can’t be. Don’t believe it.

Anyway, since it’s 2022, now is a good time to look back at some of the titles that hit the big and small screen back in 2012.

Weirdly, it looks like there were only five theatrical anime films in 2012 (according to Wikipedia, at least). We reviewed three of them: Wolf Children, 009 Re:Cyborg and Evangelion 3.0. Who knew it would take another nine years for the next Evangelion to come out? Good to see all three of the directors of these films doing interesting stuff, from Belle to Blade Runner to, y’know, the newest Evangelion.

Meanwhile, we’ve been around so long I just found our Top Anime of 2012 list. Some very nostalgia-inducing titles on here, like Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, AKB0048 and the very first season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Here’s a complete list of 2012 anime titles. What were your faves?
