Takashi Shiina’s Zettai Karen Children manga has been running in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2005, and now it’s finally about to come to an end. The author confirmed as much on Twitter, adding that the afterword comments for the final chapter have already been written in anticipation of its upcoming conclusion.
Plans to end the manga this year were previously teased, and the series has been in its final arc for quite some time. The high school arc first began back in August 2014, ending its first half in April 2017. The second half of the final arc then kicked off in August 2017 following a hiatus. As of right now, Shogakukan has published 61 collected volumes.
The Zettai Karen Children manga previously inspired a 52-episode TV anime in 2008, followed by an OVA in 2010 and a spinoff anime—The Unlimited – Hyobu Kyosuke—in 2013.
As for what’s next, Shiina said he’ll be working on his next project this year, as well.
