One of the many truths about Japan is that gashapon machines are inescapable. The machines and all the little trinkets within—many of which are anime, manga, or video game based, among other oddities—can be found all over the place, and now Bandai Namco Amusement is aiming to host the world’s largest collection of gashapon machines in a single store.
How many machines does it take for such an achievement? In the case of their Gashapon Department Store flagship location in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City, there will be an incredible 3,000 machines. Everything from classic gashapon items to new Premium Dragon Ball Super gashapon will be available in what will be the 17th gashapon department store Bandai Namco Amusement has opened since last August.
Here are a few samples of the many gashapon that will be available when the store opens on February 26 on the third floor of the Sunshine City World Import Mart Building.
