It was first announced in August that the With You and the Rain manga is getting an anime adaptation, and now Weekly Young Magazine has shared more info on the cast and crew, as well as when we can expect the show to debut — in July 2025! On top of that, visuals were released.
The following cast members were disclosed:
- Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in SPY x FAMILY) plays Fuji
- Yuna Kamakura (Ranze Nanaboshi in Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens) plays Mimi
- Satomi Satō (Wendy in Fairy Tail) plays Ren
- Yuzu Yumoto plays Kii Ella Krause
Here is the “Winter version” visual.
Here is the visual for You (Kimi):
With You and the Rain is being made at Lesprit, with Tomohiro Tsukimisato of Bikkuri-Men and Tanuki to Kitsune helming the project as director. The person handling the series scripts is Touko Machida, known for working on 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life. Credit for character design goes to Ayano Ōwada, whose credits include How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno.
The original manga by Ko Nikaido is available in America through Kodansha Publishing USA, which publishes it as a digital-only title. Kodansha gave this description for the story:
With You and the Rain Plot
If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog and insists it’s a dog, it’s…a dog? Probably? She adopted it anyway, and her life with this “dog” will never be boring!
The manga got its start in the pages of Young Magazine back in late summer 2020.
So far seven volumes of the With You and the Rain manga have been released in Japan. In America, six volumes are available, with the most recent one coming out in May 2024. About half a million copies of the manga are out in circulation around the globe.
