Sports is actually one of the oldest genres in anime, dating back to Yasuji Murata’s Animal Olympic Games made in 1928. From the 60s onward, every decade has had its share of sports series to choose from, and by now there are many different anime takes on many of the most popular sports. This brings us to the question: which one is the greatest of all time?
We’ve covered polls on this topic conducted by other publications, but we haven’t heard from our own readers on the subject, so now it’s time! We’ve put together a multiple-choice poll with an exhaustive list of sports anime from the last few decades. It’s actually far from complete, but it covers all the most popular series, and you’d break your finger scrolling through the list if we made it any larger. Vote here:
