Following up on its August 2024 announcement, the Wandance anime now has a premiere month and main cast members to look forward to. The adaptation of Coffee’s hip-hop dance manga of the same name is set to begin this October, so let’s see who’s joining the cast while we wait for more on the upcoming series.
Main cast members include Koki Uchiyama (Yamada in My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999) as Kaboku Kotani and Hina Yomiya (Yuki in SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary) as dance partner Hikari Wanda.
Disney+ will stream the series as it airs.

Wandance kicked off its run in Monthly Afternoon magazine in January 2019 and has been collected in 13 volumes to date, with roughly 900,000 copies in circulation at the time of the anime’s initial announcement.
Kodansha USA publishes the series in English and sums up the story like so:
Wandance Plot
Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he’s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not to draw too much attention to himself. After all, it’s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his—why make things worse by standing out from the crowd? But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching—or like she doesn’t care who sees her. It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom? To find his way to Wanda, he does something he never thought he could: He joins the dance club. After all, every routine begins with a single step, right?
