Viz to Publish New Rumiko Takahashi Manga

When you’re a manga-ka as huge as Rumiko Takahashi, you don’t even need a title or premise to get people pumped for your next project. That’s not to say it’s going to be easy to follow an act as massive as the 50-volume monster known as InuYasha, but there are more than likely some mad tricks up her sleeve.
What we do know is that the series will be published in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday, which has featured Takahashi’s work since the early 80’s. That should come as no surprise, but Viz was quick to jump on this one, so they’ll be publishing the title over here in late 2009. Okay, maybe none of this is too surprising considering the manga juggernaut that she is, but it’s pretty cool to see how quick the turnaround has become.
This was just one of Viz’s announcements at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con, but I’m sure fans will be the last to say it wasn’t the biggest.
