Mech battle games have a strong and dedicated following, and nowhere else is that more evident than with Sega’s Virtual On series. When Sega announced a Japanese Xbox Live Arcade release of Oratorio Tangram, originally ported from arcades to Dreamcast in 1999, fans had their fingers crossed that the announcement would hold true for the US.
Sega’s a smart company, so it wasn’t long before their wishes were granted. That’s right, a high definition rerelease of Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram will soon be in our hands and, as one would expect from a proper XBLA release, it will feature online multiplayer for fierce head-to-head battles.
More details should be coming out in the near future as far as release dates go, so we’ll try to keep you posted with an update to this article. Now, if someone would just hook us up with a mammoth twin-stick controller…
