Universal Studios Japan Goes All-In on Chainsaw Man

Last month Universal Studios Japan unveiled its cool Demon Slayer attractions, but that doesn’t mean other series won’t also get attention. Case in point: details were just revealed on how USJ is also going full-on Chainsaw Man mode, and it will overlap with Halloween.

Hollywood Dream-The Ride, which also has Demon Slayer stuff, will indulge Chainsaw Man fans by playing its opening theme song “Kick Back,” plus an audio clipping involving Samurai Sword. More Chainsaw Man audio can be heard by people going on the Hollywood Dream-The Ride-Backdrop ride.

It’s not just about the rides, though. It’s also about food and merchandise. You can eat Pochita Steamed Buns, which have bacon and creamed corn inside them. Then there are the Chainsaw Man Churritos, which are blood orange-flavored churros.

Fans don’t only have the option of “eating” Pochita — they can also get plushies of him, too. The plushies come with little clips so you can attach it to clothes, purses, backpacks, whatever you want.

The Chainsaw Man attractions and goodies are available for a limited time, and they start on September 6. The Hollywood Dream-The Ride stops with the Chainsaw Man theme on November 4. That means the horror series gets to spook people in the park during Halloween season.

VIZ Media publishes the original manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, and gave this description for the first volume:

Chainsaw Man Plot

Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
