A premiere date has been revealed for Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami, the AnimeFesta anime adaptation of Ayaka Matsumoto’s yaoi manga Yatara Yarashii Fukami-kun. The series will kick off its run on April 6, and you can see the main cast along with a key visual below.
Chasuke is in the lead as Akihiro Kaji alongside Marshmallow Yakitaro as Fukami. Here are their respective designs:
The anime will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11, and will be available both in Japan and overseas on the Coolmic site.
The manga started out a couple years ago on the ComicFesta website, and ComicFesta and AnimeFesta are both owned by WWWave Corporation. AnimeFesta is interested in turning ComicFesta titles into anime, and has made adaptations for more than 25 manga series. Their debut anime title was On a Lustful Night Mingling with a Priest (a.k.a. Sōryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni… in Japanese). As one can guess from this title, as well as the title Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami, the company has an angle of creating adult stories for mature audiences.
The manga is available to English-speaking readers through both Coolmic and Renta! Renta!, which rates the manga 18+, is publishing it digitally in sections and gave this description for the plot:
Kaji’s well-liked, but he sercretly rates everyone and looks down on them. On a business trip with Fukami, Kaji gives him a flat 0. However, after a bath, Fukami transforms into a completely different person! Thus begins the obstinate relationship of a playboy narcissist and a deceivingly frumpily dressed, hot bodied otaku!
