This Fall’s Anime Reincarnations Are Offering Heroes a New Start

Check out the anime reincarnations of this season's new heroes!

Anime reincarnations don’t always require a stray truck or a confused deity. Sometimes life just comes at you fast. Heck, some new lives don’t even transport you to different worlds. They may well place you very close to where you started… leading to even more potential complications.

Just take a look at the heroes of the fall season. From favorite dating sims to an apartment around the corner, they’re starting new lives in all sorts of unexpected places. But what will these new opportunities bring?

An ancient dragon turns human.

Good Bye, Dragon Life

Not every anime reincarnation is a power boost—some let you live a chill life on the next go ’round. Take Dolan, the star of Good Bye, Dragon Life. He used to be an ancient dragon! Now he’s just a normal human villager… well, mostly normal. Even though he appears to still have a touch of that power that made even the gods fear him, he’s still embracing his cozy new life.

The series kicks off with Dolan meeting a lamia girl named Celina. The two become friends, despite Celina’s difficulties befriending humans. But Dolan’s cozy life is about to get upended by outside threats.

Good Bye, Dragon Life is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

A wife becomes a grade-schooler.

TsumaSho

Our next anime reincarnation is surprisingly close to home—literally. Takae passed away ten years ago, leaving behind husband Keisuke and daughter Mai. The two have never truly recovered. Then one day, a ten-year-old girl shows up at their door. She claims to be Takae… and all the details appear to fit.

But TsumaSho is much more convoluted than it appears on the surface. Despite having Takae’s memories, grade-schooler Marika already has another life—with an absent and emotionally abusive mother. Why did Takae’s memories come back now? Who is she really? And how does having Takae (apparently) present in his life again affect his stagnant grief? Whatever you think this series might be, it’s not.

TsumaSho is now streaming on Crunchyroll.

A gamer becomes a high-born baddie.

I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History

When it comes to anime reincarnations, “dating sim villainess” has become a popular one. And while certain heroines may fear such an outcome, others fully embrace it. Take Alicia, the star of I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History. She’s not just been reborn into her favorite game—she’s been reborn as her favorite character. And she’s determined to live this bad girl life to its fullest.

There’s just one problem: she doesn’t seem to quite understand what a villainess is. So while she’s striving to be the best baddie ever, she’s inadvertently making great decisions. Wait… maybe she was on to something when she said Alicia was the best character in the game…

I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
