These Isekai Inventions Are Upgrading Other Worlds This Season!

Isekai inventions may not be new to us, but they make these fantasy worlds more livable!

The heroes of isekai anime get an experience like no other. Whether they receive cheat powers, a fresh start, or a harem of admirers, they generally get at least something positive going for them. But even in a fantasy world, you can find yourself missing the comforts of home. What to do? Simply reinvent them!

The clever inventions in this season’s other-world anime are nothing new to us, but they’re game changers for the residents of these fantasy kingdoms!

Manga

Quality Assurance in Another World

Quality Assurance in Another World is an isekai in the same way Sword Art Online is: your standard “trapped in a full-dive VR game” deal. Haga is a debugger making his way through a massive fantasy game, with NPC Nikola by his side. But he’s not the only IRL person here—his fellow debuggers are coping as best they can. For some, this means breaking the game. For others, it means adapting.

Much like Haga, fellow debugger Amano has “adopted” an NPC. This bedridden questgiver craves stories, so he’s giving her plenty to read: in the form of manga! This is nothing new to Haga, but Nikola is immediately enamored with the unfamiliar medium. Trust us, Nikola, we get it.

Fancy Bread

A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring

Takumi, the star of A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring, gets the full isekai treatment. After a god accidentally kills him, he gets all sorts of perks in an adjacent world… provided he does this god a few favors. One is raising a pair of twins, Alan and Elena. Fortunately, they’re super-strong and super-observant, so they make great questing buddies. But Takumi goes full big brother, making sure they have the best of everything.

This includes “inventing” his beloved fancy breads from Japan. Custard bread, anpan, and more become staples thanks to help from a local bakery. As comfy as his fantasy world life already is, these sweet treats are a huge bonus.

Waterproofing

Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools

The great thing about being an isekai protagonist is your brain is full of “new ideas” from your past life. And Dahlia of Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools is in an ideal position to make use of that knowledge. Raised as an artificer, she has plenty of concepts for magic items starting from childhood. And when your first invention is a hair dryer, you’re bound to go far.

What really makes a name for Dahlia, though, is her newly-invented raincoat. Through trial and error using slime extract, she provides her new home with waterproof material. As much as we admire characters bringing manga and anpan to their fantasy worlds, we have to hand it to Dahlia for this game-changer.
