The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash is an isekai light novel series by Honobonoru500, and it currently has an anime adaptation in the works. Featuring direction by Naoki Horiuchi (episodes of Naruto Shippuden), series composition by Katsuhiko Takayama (Miss KUROITSU from the Monster Development Department) and animation production at STUDIO MASSKET, the anime is set to premiere sometime in 2024, and the first trailer is now live.
Embedded below, the preview features a sample of opening theme song “Hate no Nai Tabi” (“The journey without end”), as performed by Aina Suzuki, who is also in the anime’s cast as lead character Ivy.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novel and manga adaptation in English and describes the story below:
In Ivy’s world, stars are everything. She’s a Tamer, born to subdue monsters and animals, but she was also born starless! With her life in danger, Ivy flees into the forest where she befriends a weak little slime named Sora—the one creature she can tame. Together, the unlikely pair set off on a journey, salvaging rubbish to survive. Along the way they’ll win hearts, evade danger, and discover there’s more to starless Ivy than meets the eye!
