Info on the opening song and cast additions made its way into the latest preview for The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash anime, which aims to adapt the light novel series by Honobonoru500 and Nama. In addition to previewing the opening theme song, the video introduces a few more cast members into the mix.

The opening theme song will be “Hate no Nai Tabi,” as performed by Aina Suzuki, who also voices the lead. Check the trailer out below and read on for an overview of the new cast.

The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash anime is set to premiere in Japan on January 12, 2024. 

Shigeyasu Yamauchi is on board as chief director, with Naoki Horiuchi as director, Katsuhiko Takayama on series composition and Kujira Yumemi composing music for the STUDIO MASSKET production. 

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novel and manga adaptation in English and describes the story below: 

In Ivy’s world, stars are everything. She’s a Tamer, born to subdue monsters and animals, but she was also born starless! With her life in danger, Ivy flees into the forest where she befriends a weak little slime named Sora—the one creature she can tame. Together, the unlikely pair set off on a journey, salvaging rubbish to survive. Along the way they’ll win hearts, evade danger, and discover there’s more to starless Ivy than meets the eye!
