Back in May we learned that The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash anime—based on the isekai light novel series by Honobonoru500—is set to kick off in 2024. That timing has since been narrowed down to a July 12, 2024 premiere in Japan, and now the theme song artist has been locked in ahead of the debut.
The anime’s ending theme song will be “because,” as performed by Tei Hinoto (Tsurune – The Linking Shot ending theme).
The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash has Shigeyasu Yamauchi as chief director and Naoki Horiuchi as director, with Katsuhiko Takayama on series composition and Kujira Yumemi composing music for the STUDIO MASSKET production.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novel and manga adaptation in English and describes the story below:
In Ivy’s world, stars are everything. She’s a Tamer, born to subdue monsters and animals, but she was also born starless! With her life in danger, Ivy flees into the forest where she befriends a weak little slime named Sora—the one creature she can tame. Together, the unlikely pair set off on a journey, salvaging rubbish to survive. Along the way they’ll win hearts, evade danger, and discover there’s more to starless Ivy than meets the eye!
