Starting life over sounds like a tough break, but the deal gets a little sweeter when you realize you have all your past memories intact. That’s the general setup for TurtleMe’s The Beginning After the End novels, the anime adaptation of which is now set to premiere on April 2.

The first season will consist of 24 episodes, and it will be streamed by Crunchyroll for American fans.
The Beginning After The End is being made at Studio A-Cat, with Keitaro Motonaga of Katanagatari and Jormungand helming the project as director. The music is being composed by Keiji Inai, whose credits include Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level.
The franchise started out as a webnovel by TurtleMe and also has a webcomic adaptation. Its title in Japan is Saikyō no Ō-sama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru? TurtleMe is involved with the anime adaptation as an executive producer and story supervisor.
