Last time we checked in on the Teogonia anime—which is on the way to adapt the light novel series by writer Tsukasa Tanimai—it was eyeing a 2025 premiere. Now that timing has been solidified for April 2025 and a visual made its way online to celebrate the news.
Light novel illustrator Koichiro Kawano also serves as the anime’s character designer and provided the art for the visual below:
Author Tsukasa Tanimai shared the following comment, as translated by Crunchyroll News:
The words I carefully typed out on my keyboard have been transformed into illustrations, a comic, and now, an anime that moves and speaks. This feels like an incredible stroke of luck, akin to a tale of fortune beyond imagination.
To everyone involved in bringing this project to life, I extend my deepest gratitude. And to the readers who have supported the series, I offer my heartfelt thanks.
Please look forward to the Teogonia anime! I am confident it will become a truly outstanding adaptation thanks to the efforts of an exceptional team.

Teogonia is being made at Asahi Production, with Kunihiro Mori of SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors helming the project as director. The music is being composed by Kenji Fujisawa, whose credits include Baki Hanma and Hyakko. The person handling series scripts is Tomoyasu Okubo, who worked on the scenario for This Ugly Yet Beautiful World. Credit for character design goes to Koichiro Kawano, the light novels’ artist. Meanwhile, the anime is being produced by WOWMAX.

Teogonia Plot
In the harsh region known as the borderlands, humans must fight an endless battle against demi-human creatures that come at them relentlessly, intent on taking their land and their gods. A young boy named Kai, fighting to defend his village, sustains a life-threatening injury that causes him to regain memories from a past life.
