An anime adaptation was announced for the Tasuketsu horror manga by Taiga Miyakawa back in January, and now we have a date. Thanks to a new trailer we know that the series will premiere in Japan on July 2, 2024, and there are also three new cast members in the mix.
Pictured from left to right below, the new cast additions are Kotomi Aihara as Borinmaru Gokokuhotenji, Shiki Aoki as Rika Suzuki and Kentaro Kumagai as Hayato Soma.

Tatsuo Satō, who has previously worked on Martian Successor Nadesico, is helming the project as the director as well as being the person who oversees scripts. The musical composer is R.O.N, known for working on FLCL Alternative and The Slime Diaries. The assistant director is Tōru Hamazaki, whose background includes being an episode director for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
As for the main voice cast, Yūto Uemura plays Saneatsu Narita, Anna Nagase plays Saaya Fujishiro, Kazuki Ura plays Ryūta Ichinose, Kouki Ohsuzu plays Kazuhiko Satō, Shiori Mikami plays Omi Jin, Yuki Nakashima plays Eren Kunashiri, Daisuke Ono plays Tōjūrō Yagihashi, Jun Kasama plays Ryōei Sudō, Shūta Morishima plays Sōtarō Shinozaki, KENN plays Ren Iruga, Kenjiro Tsuda plays Hisoka Midō, and Yuka Terasaki plays Emperor.
The original Tasūketsu manga launched a little more than a decade ago, in 2013. Here’s the story’s description:
All of a sudden, people all over the world die because of a majority decision started by the “Emperor.” Survivors have to take a majority decision at 00:00 am, then the majority of people will have to die. The protagonist high school boy Saneatsu Narita and his schoolmates decide to defeat the Emperor.
