Suikoden: The Anime, the upcoming anime adaptation of the Konami RPG series, will debut in 2026. Alongside that news came a new piece of key art for the series, which you can see below.
There are few details about the series so far, but we do know it will adapt Suikoden II, which was first released on the PlayStation in 1998. The game is available on modern consoles as Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars.
The anime is produced by Konami Animation and directed by Yuuzou Satou (Exception, Muteking the Dancing Hero).
Here’s how Konami describes Suikoden II HD Remaster:
I thought if I was that strong, I could protect everyone. 108 tales, prayers, wishes and tragedy that interlocks… and no one left to tell the tale. Our story’s hero and Jowy were a part of the Highland Kingdom’s Unicorn Youth Brigade, partaking in a taxing battle against the City-States. The City-States of Jowston, made up of the 5 cities of Muse, South Window, Tinto, Greenhill, and Two River, as well as the Matilda Knights, and the Highland Kingdom were involved in a never-ending battle over gaining control of land. A few months earlier to the story, Agares Blight, king of Highland, and Anabelle, mayor of Muse, signed a truce agreement, both sides happy to see an end to the fighting. However, fires of a new war continued to smolder in the shadows… A cast of over 140 characters, comprised of the 108 Stars of Destiny, members of the City-States of Jowston, and the Highland enemies, come together to weave a dynamic and magnificent story.
