Studio Pierrot Is Making a New Magical Girl Anime

Studio Pierrot Is Making a New Magical Girl AnimeStudio Pierrot — the studio behind Creamy Mami, Fancy Lala and other iconic magical girl anime — is returning to the genre.

Pierrot has announced it’s in production on a new magical girl anime, its first since Fancy Lala in 1998. Not a ton of info so far, though we do have a short teaser that looks back on the studio’s previous magical girl series, which are:

Magical Angel Creamy Mami (1983)
Magical Fairy Persia (1984)
Magical Star Magical Emi (1985)
Magical Idol Pastel Yumi (1986)
Fancy Lala (1998)

The teaser also includes a piece of key art for the new series along with the tagline “I want you to sing it again.”

Though it’s been a while since Pierrot produced a magical girl series, the studio has a great pedigree, so we’re looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
