Now it’s been turned into a kabuki play — and we’re getting the chance to see it with English subtitles.

The subbed version of the play will stream live on YouTube August 11 at 8AM EDT, and will then be available to watch anytime between August 12 and 18. The stream and archived video run 4,200 yen, which is about $26.

The play is set in the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568-1600), when the outlaw Ishikawa Goemon lived. The Lupin character Ishikawa Goemon XIII is a fictional descendant of the real-life Ishikawa.

It stars Ainosuke Kataoka as Lupin III, Matsuya Onoe as Goemon Ishikawa, Emisaburō Ichikawa as Daisuke Jigen, Emiya Ichikawa as Fujiko Mine and Chūsha Ichikawa as Zenigata.
