Everyone’s favorite domestic intrigue series will be back for a third season! SPY x FAMILY will be continuing in the future, with more animated adventures for the Forger family. Of course, manga readers can keep up with Loid, Yor, Anya, and Bond on the Shonen Jump app. And those who do, know that there are some interesting stories on the horizon.
Today, we’re taking a (largely spoiler-free) look at three plot points we can’t wait to see explored in future seasons.
A Background Romance
SPY x FAMILY fans are already well aware of Henry Henderson and Martha Marriott. The former is an elegance-obsessed history teacher at Eden Academy, while the latter is Becky Blackbell’s loyal caretaker. But there’s much more to both of them than one might first think. They both have a lot of history… on their own and, as you may have spotted, with each other.
As we speak, the manga has flashed back to their youth during wartime—their own time at Eden Academy and the years after. We’re extremely invested in the relationship of these two background characters, and we’re hoping it’ll get its fair share of attention at some point in the anime!
Yor’s Fight for World Peace
In SPY x FAMILY, everyone’s doing their part for world peace. Anya’s working hard at school, Loid continues his spycraft… and Yor has made some unexpected in-roads, too. Suffice to say, she’s the kind of person who makes friends wherever she goes. And as the manga carries on, she’s making friends and influencing people on a grand scale.
There’s one new friend in particular whom even Yor herself is surprised to have found. And while it starts off as a rather comedic encounter, it quickly becomes an important piece of the puzzle. Whether she knows it or not, she may just have a bigger hand in Loid’s plan than even he bargained for.
What Anya Tells Damian
There are some manga panels that you know will go on to be iconic. The final page of Ashita no Joe. Isabella looming over Emma in The Promised Neverland. And, as far as we’re concerned, this two-page spread of Anya dancing with Damian in SPY x FAMILY. Besides just being an awesome piece of art, it’s a major moment in the story of the series.
Anya and Damian’s interactions have always been fraught with drama and tension—or at least the kindergarten equivalent. But what starts as an over-the-top competition for Damian’s attention turns into one of the biggest surprises of the series so far. What happens? We’re absolutely not spoiling it here. But you can find out by reading the manga, or (like us) look forward to the anime eventually reaching this story arc!
