Two new poster visuals have been revealed for the Spirited Away stage play—which brings Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s Academy Award-winning anime film to life when performances kick off at TOHO’s Imperial Theatre in February 2022. Shows will run there from February to March before moving to Osaka in April, followed by Fukuoka in May, Sapporo in June, and Nagoya in June and July. Chihiro will be played by two different actresses in alternating performances, including Kanna Hashimoto (Gintama), who is depicted on the left poster above, and Mone Kamishiraishi (live-action Chihayafuru), who is depicted on the right.
The Spirited Away stage play is written and directed by the Tony and Olivier Award-winning John Caird, who is also the Honorary Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
