More updates for Solo Leveling season 2 came through during last night’s Aniplex Online Fest 2024 event. Titled Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, the continuation is officially lined up for a January 2025 premiere. There’s also a new key visual for the second season.
Ahead of its debut, the first two episodes of season 2 will screen along with Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-, a compilation film of the first season that’s set to premiere in Japan on November 29, 2024. You can see a teaser for the feature below.
Shunsuke Nakashige directs Solo Leveling, with Noboru Kimura writing, Tomoko Sudo handling character designs and Hiroyuki Sawano on music for the A-1 Pictures production.
Crunchyroll previously announced plans to stream Solo Leveling season 2 when it airs. Here’s how the streamer describes the series, which is based on the manhwa by Chugong and late artist DUBU.
It’s been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates”—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters.” Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. In this world of tough customers, the low-ranked hunter Jinwoo Sung is known as “the weakest hunter of all mankind.” One day, Jinwoo gets fatally injured when he runs into high-rank double dungeons hidden within a low-rank dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appears in front of him. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to accept the quest and starts leveling up… while the others aren’t.
