Sing Yesterday for Me Manga Gets Anime Adaptation

Sing Yesterday for Me Manga Gets Anime AdaptationSing Yesterday for Me (Yesterday o Utatte), a manga which ran from 1998 to 2015, is getting the anime treatment.

The original manga, by Kei Toume, is about an ambitionless convenience store worker named Rikuo and the women in his life, a high school dropout named Haru and a former classmate named Shinako.

Toume commented: “I was surprised when I heard it would be turned into an anime. I’m excited to see how the characters are portrayed. When they add color and sound, it’ll take on a whole new life, so I’m really looking forward to it.”

In 2015, artist Ilya Kuvshinov (Birthday Wonderland character designs) created a video tribute to the manga, which he called his favorite.
