Evangelion is currently having a moment, and now veteran voice actress Megumi Ogata is getting ready for another of her own. The 55-year-old voice of characters ranging from Shinji in Evangelion to Kuwabara in Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon, and beyond is set to release her first autobiography in Japan on April 28.
Rebuild will chronicle her career, including secret stories from series in which she has appeared. The book also includes rare photos from her childhood and school days, as well as images from live performances and voice recording sessions.
Here’s what Ogata had to say in the introduction:
“Just then, I had just finished recording of the final chapter of the Rebuild of Evangelion series, and it was the timing that I was going to be able to unload a huge burden. My vast amount of ‘trial and error.’ The story of the world that has expanded beyond that. Maybe I can be of help to someone else by sharing it with you. Maybe it’s okay for me to be here. It’s okay for me to be here!”
