Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King: The Super Star manga is the latest arc for the series, and it’s about to take a break. The author is currently busy with other work, so the October issue of Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge announced a hiatus for the manga.
According to the announcement, the return date will be announced at a later time.
Shaman King: The Super Star kicked off in the magazine back in May 2018, and as of February it has been compiled in five volumes. Takei’s original Shaman King manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1998 to 2004, followed by a “true ending” featured in a reprinting in 2009. Takei has also created the Shaman King 0 short story series and the 2012-2014 sequel series Shaman King Flowers.
The manga is currently enjoying a brand new adaptation that premiered in April and started its global streaming on Netflix in August.
