The manga Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women (a.k.a. Hitozuma no Kuchibiru wa Kan Chūhai no Aji ga Shite) by Chinjao Musume and Tama Nogami is getting an anime adaptation. WWWave, the company behind it, shared information on the cast and crew, plus the fact that the series is set to premiere this July. This visual was also released.
Here are the cast members we now know about:
- Takahide Ishii (Tomoatsu Naoe in Plus-Sized Elf) plays Tsuyoshi
- Shiho Kawaragi (Rinka Hayami in Assassination Classroom) plays Yui Koriyama
The series is being made at raiose, with Hajime Keima both in the director’s seat and in charge of series composition. Credit for character design and color design go to Yoriko Karei. The person editing and directing photography is Tomohiro Hayasshi. The sound director is Fumihiko Odera.

The Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women manga started out on the website YanMaga Web from Kodansha, and continues to have new chapters. Kodansha has also published it in book form in Japan as a “Luxurious full-color strong edition,” but so far it has not been licensed into English.
The manga is written in the omnibus format, and it’s about the aforementioned Tsuyoshi, who is a college student with a taste for the Japanese cocktail chūhai. It also follows his “encounters” with married women, hence the title.
After the anime adaptation was revealed, manga artist Nogami publicly said, “umm… is it really possible to make an anime series from this?”
This is Deregula’s second anime project, following Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World!
