Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Anime Previewed in New Trailer

seirei gensouki

Yuri Kitayama’s isekai fantasy light novel series Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles has an anime adaptation in the works, and now we know to expect it sometime this year. While we wait for a more concrete start date, a second promo has arrived online to focus on the protagonist, Rio, who wakes up from his previous life to find himself at the Bertram Kingdom Royal Institute.

Osamu Yamasaki (Hakuouki) is directing and writing series composition at anime production house TMS Entertainment (Lupin the Third).

J-Novel Club publishes the English version of the light novel series and sums up the first volume below.

Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he’s rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children…?
