Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode Arrives Tuesday

There’s been a lot of debate about Capcom’s downloadable versus mode, even before the game itself hit store shelves. Some feel that if it’s available at or around launch, it should be part of the retail package, but Capcom has stated that this is simply the reality of the development window for timely DLC. No matter which side of the fence you fall on, it’s hard to dispute that Resident Evil 5 is worth the $60 pricetag, as the disc is already loaded to the brim with content.

Beyond that, it just comes down to how close the thought of a versus mode for the game comes to fitting your fancy. Supporting up to four players in multiple modes (such as an all-out battle against each other or a point-based contest that tasks each player with scoring the most while killing Majinis), RE5 Versus drops tomorrow for the price of 400 MS points on Xbox Live, or $4.99 on the Playstation Network.
