Rent-a-Girlfriend Manga Now Has Over 13 Million Copies in Print

Rent-a-Girlfriend

Reiji Miyajima’s Rent-a-Girlfriend manga has been running in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 2017, amassing 35 collected volumes and three seasons of an anime adaptation in the process. That adaptation has certainly given the series a healthy boost, and the latest milestone it celebrated is 13 million copies in print.

Miyajima shared the news on his official Twitter account along with a celebratory illustration featuring one of the main heroines, Chizuru Mizuhara, which you can see below.

Crunchyroll streams the Rent-a-Girlfriend anime adaptation and describes it like so:

Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. “Ugh… Damn it. I never want to go through that again.”

Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl. He goes to their meeting place and suddenly hears, “You’re Kazuya-kun, right?” A beautiful girl brushing her long, black hair behind her ear was there, smiling at him. Her name was Mizuhara Chizuru. Something real is born after just a single rental! A reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement is about to begin!

In related news, Rent-a-Girlfriend author Reiji Miyajima’s The Shiunji Family Children manga recently landed an anime adaptation of its own.
