Re:Monster Light Novels Serve Up Inspiration for Latest Isekai Anime Adaptation

re:monster

As revealed via a newly-launched website, Kogitsune Kanekiru’s Re:Monster light novel series is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. The announcement went live alongside a teaser trailer, visual and the news that protagonist Gob-Rou will be voiced by Takuya Sato. Check out the preview below.

So far we know that GENCO is producing the anime and Studio DEEN is in charge of animation production.

The Re:Monster light novel series first launched via the Shosetsu ni Naro website before the first volume made its way to readers in 2012. The novels feature illustrations by Yamaada, and there’s also an ongoing manga adaptation by Kobayakawa.

That manga adaptation is available in English through Seven Seas Entertainment, which describes the story like so:

Tomokui Kanata has suffered an early death, but his adventures are far from over. He is reborn into a fantastical world of swords and magic– as a lowly goblin! Not content to let this stop him, the now renamed “Rou” uses his new physical abilities and his old memories to plow ahead in a world where consuming other creatures allows him to acquire their strengths and powers.
