TOKYO GAME SHOW 2011 was held in Chiba, Japan from September 15-18, 2011. This is the biggest computer entertainment show in Japan and 180 game companies were expected to attend the show. This year the show attracted 222,668 attendees, the highest turnout since the show started.
193 companies displayed booths and introduced 715 new game titles. Companies from foreign countries such as the USA, Mexico, Canada, England, Switzerland, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China all joined the show this year. Since a wider range of products and games have been introduced at the show in recent years, the attendance has grown significantly.
Sony’s latest portable system, PlayStation Vita, was very popular, and generated a long line in front of the booth. It was a 2-hour wait just to play the games! But the gamers patiently waited for their turn, wow! There were also social networking services with games, as well as new products to be played on smart phones, and a flock of people rushed to the booths.
In 2012 the show will be held between Thursday, September 20 and Sunday, September 23. If you missed this year’s show, please come to the show next year!!!
