Pokémon Trainer Tour Reality Series Puts Fans Front and Center

Pokemon Trainer Tour

Pokémon wouldn’t be the mega franchise it is without the love of its fans, and The Pokémon Company International decided to show some of that love back by featuring real trainers in a new show. Pokémon Trainer Tour, which is different from the rest of the Pokémon franchise because it’s a reality series, has Meghan Camarena and Andrew Mahone traveling in a Pikachu bus and interviewing fans. The two, who are also known as Strawburry17 and Tricky Gym, respectively, are Pokémon content creators. And as they travel, they’ll see how ubiquitous the fanbase is.

Camarena and Mahone are supposed to “meet and mentor aspiring trainers looking to foster connections with family and friends through their love of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.” The series consists of eight episodes.

“This series offers fans an inside look into the varied experiences and heartfelt stories of some of the Trainers who make up the diverse array of Pokémon fans, and we’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase how connections are fostered through the Pokémon TCG,” remarked Andy Gose, who is The Pokémon Company International’s senior director of media production.

Gose also commented, “While the Trainers recount their own unique life experiences in each episode, they all share a love for the Pokémon brand and Pokémon TCG. We hope that this passion extends to our viewers, providing a glimpse of what it means to be part of the Pokémon community.”

Where to Watch Pokémon Trainer Tour

The series drops tomorrow, July 31, on Prime Video and the Roku Channel. If you don’t have either of those, there will be the opportunity to watch the first episode on Pokémon’s YouTube channel.

What do you think about Pokémon trying out a show that’s all about the fans instead of all about the Pokémon? Is Pokémon Trainer Tour something you’d be interested in watching . . . or maybe even being on?
