Eat Up with These Pokémon Meal Kits in Japan

Meal kit delivery services are getting more popular these days, and Oisix, a meal kit service in Japan, is offering up something unique: Pokémon meals.

Pokémon cafés are something that exist in Japan, and this is supposed to be a little like a Pokémon café in someone’s own house. The Pokémon meals are nods to the game Pokémon Cafe Mix/ReMix (fans in Japan will know it as Pokémon Cafe Mazemaze Puzzle), and there are three options.

The first, to no one’s surprise, is themed after Pikachu, the world’s most recognizable and famous Pokémon. The meal is called the Pikachu Four-Vegetable Curry, and you can see Pikachu’s face in it.

Snorlax’s meal has a kind of long name: Big Loco Moco That’d Make Even Snorlax Full. This time around the meal consists of hamburger steak, along with vegetables, rice and eggs.

Last but not least is the one dessert being offered, and it’s themed around Eevee. The Eevee Cake with Cream Cheese has an Eevee face in it, and fruit to go with the cake.

All of the kits include Pokémon placemats that look as if they’re shots from the game Pokémon Café Mix. And for a little extra money people can also get Pokémon cups.

The meal kits are available only for a limited time. People in Japan can order the Pikachu Four-Vegetable Curry between August 15 and September 5, the Big Loco Moco That’d Make Even Snorlax Full between August 22 and September 12, and The Eevee Cake with Cream Cheese between August 29 and September 19. So there’s a bit of overlap where people can buy all three at the same time.
