With an October 6 premiere on the horizon, the first full trailer is here for the Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! anime. The series—which adapts the manga by mamakari—is due to start its broadcast on October 6, and you can preview some footage along with a sample of Aya Endo as Yumeko Koda and Yuma Uchida as Keisuke Yuki in the trailer below.

The anime’s ending song will have Yuma Uchida performing “Watashi de Yokatta!!!”
Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! was first announced for the small screen in November 2023. As for the main staff behind it, Kazuomi Koga (Rent-a-Girlfriend) directs, with Aya Watatane on series composition, Atsuko Takahashi on character designs and Satoshi Hono and Kaori Nakano on music for the Marvy Jack production.
Manga Plaza publishes the Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! manga digitally in English and sums up the story:
“This is the punishment for a fat, ugly girl like me falling in love with someone as beautiful as you…” Yumeko had a mountain of complexes about herself. Then, a terrible accident befalls her. Though somehow saved from the brink of death, Yumeko wakes up a completely different person. “This is…me…?! I’m SO cute!!” Those around her can’t hide their surprise and wonderment at this 180°change… But, Yumeko’s new hyper-positive attitude starts to change her surroundings, too.
