Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero RPG Reveals Fresh Trailer

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero RPG Reveals Fresh TrailerPhantom Brave: The Lost Hero, the long-awaited sequel to the Nippon Ichi tactical RPG from way back in 2004, is on the way.

Today saw the release of an announcement trailer for the game, which gave us a look at the game’s story, its characters, and the play system, including the game’s “confine” system, in which anything can become an ally.

The trailer reveals that Marona and Ash, the protagonists of the original Phantom Brave, will return for the sequel.

The game will be released in 2025 on Switch, PS5, PS4 and PC.

The original Phantom Brave was released in 2004 on PS2, and was eventually ported to Wii, PSP, PC and Switch. In 2009, we reviewed the Wii version, calling it “grindy, stat-heavy, and full of all sorts of juicy secrets that no sane person would ever find without reading a tome-sized strategy guide.”

Here’s how NIS America describes the new game:

Set sail to save the day with Marona and her Phantom friends in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 in 2025! Steam to follow later in 2025. Each stage of this colorful RPG adventure offers a gridless tactical turn-based challenge. Utilize the Confine system to recruit Phantoms, binding them to objects on the map for unique advantages. Unleash potent attacks with Confire, merging Phantoms with cannons and other Gadgets. When all else fails, execute Marona’s special Confriend ability for show-stopping abilities that will turn the tide of battle!
