The Oshi no Ko theme song—YOASOBI’s “Idol”—has been breaking records ever since the anime debuted. Now it has another trophy to add to its heaving shelf, because it has now become the fastest song in the history of the Oricon charts to go beyond 400 million streams. It has also surpassed Official HIGE DANdism’s “Subtitle” to become the first song with more than 10 million streams over 19 consecutive weeks.
“Idol” holds the third longest streak in the number one spot at 19 weeks. The running total as of August 22, 2023 according to Oricon is 403,127,806 streams, including 16,618,575 over the last week alone.

Daisuke Hiramaki directs the Oshi no Ko anime, with animation production by Doga Kobo. Manga Plus publishes the English version of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s manga digitally and describes it like so:
