The mega popular manga series Oshi no Ko began its concluding arc in June, and the end is just around the corner. Its official social media announced that it just has four chapters to go!
Oshi no Ko is on hiatus at the moment, but a new chapter will be here on October 24. After that, you can expect a chapter a week, until we reach November 14. That’s when the last chapter — Chapter 166 — will grace the pages of Weekly Young Jump magazine.
The final book volume of the manga will come out in Japan in December.
So far two seasons of the Oshi no Ko anime have come out, and a third one is on its way. These are being streamed by HIDIVE, which previously noted that Oshi no Ko was its most successful launch ever.
Besides the anime version, there is additionally going to be a live-action adaptation. We can expect that begin in late November, after the manga has ended.
The record-breaking and sometimes controversial series is about the darker side of the entertainment industry. Creator Aka Akasaka explained, “With the spread of the internet, we live in a society where fans’ voices are heard directly. I want people to know how young talents are being hurt, exploited, and suffering.”
In America, the original manga is published by Yen Press, which gave this description for the first volume:
Oshi no Ko Plot
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
