The ONE PIECE FILM RED movie has big plans for its world premiere, which is officially set to be held at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on July 22. That’s not just any day, as it was designated as “One Piece Day” by the Japan Anniversary Association in 2017 since Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga kicked off its Weekly Shonen Jump serialization on July 22, 1997.
Among those getting in on the event will be the voice cast of the Straw Hats, including Monkey D. Luffy VA Mayumi Tanaka. The guests will all gather on stage for the event, after which the world’s first screening of the film will begin.
This year’s 27th issue of Jump is accepting applications for visitors along with Shonen Jump+ and the movie’s official website until June 26.
Here’s the second teaser trailer from April:
ONE PIECE FILM RED has Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass) directing One Piece for the first time since helming 1998’s One Piece: Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack! short way back in 1998, a year before the TV anime premiered.
