New Ring ni Kakero 1 Anime to Debut in April

Ring ni Kakero 1 may not be too well known among US anime/manga fans, but it deserves to be. After all, it’s a boxing series created by Saint Seiya‘s Masami Kurumada. What more could you possibly need to know about it?

We may not get any Ring love over here—outside of very small and unofficial circles, at least—but in Japan they’ve officially cooked up the debut date for the fourth series based on Kurumada’s manga, to be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (episode director for Gurren Lagann, Big Windup!, much more).

Titled Ring ni Kakero 1: Sekai Taikai-hen, the latest in the ongoing professional pugilist yarn is set to premiere on Japan’s Animax channel next April.
