Naoko Yamada’s The Colors Within Gets New Poster

Naoko Yamada’s The Colors Within Gets New PosterThe Colors Within (Kimi no Iro), the latest film from director Naoko Yamada, is set to hit theaters in Japan August 30. To keep the hype train chugging, we’ve got a new poster that shows the film’s protagonists playing music live.

It’s also been revealed that the soundtrack album for the film, which is titled all is colour within (they went with the British spelling there for some reason) will be released in a two-disc set with 52 tracks August 28. The music is composed by Kensuke Ushio, who also scored Yamada’s films A Silent Voice and Liz and the Blue Bird.

Earlier this month, The Colors Within won the best animation award at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Here’s how Annecy describes The Colors Within:

Synesthete Totsuko can see others as colors. Honor student Kimi has dropped out of school but still pretends to attend for her grandmother’s sake. They reunite and decide to form a band with Rui, who dreams of composing on analog synthesizers but whose mother expects him to become a doctor. Together, they find freedom, joy, and love.
