The My Home Hero anime was one of last year’s surprise delights, and the source material is about to come to an end. Last year Naoki Yamakawa and Masashi Asaki’s manga took a month off to prepare for the climax, and now there are just five chapters to go before it ends.
Since the manga is about to take a two-week break, the final five chapters will debut without interruption. Look for the manga to return to the pages of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine for its final series of installments in this year’s 31st issue on July 1, 2024.
The My Home Hero manga launched in Weekly Young Magazine in May 2017, and has been collected in 24 volumes so far, with the 25th to ship in Japan on July 5. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English.
Crunchyroll streams the anime adaptation both subtitled and dubbed and describes the story:
After killing his daughter’s abusive yakuza boyfriend to save her, ordinary salaryman Tetsuo Tosu becomes embroiled in the dark criminal underworld. The wish for a simple life he and his wife Kasen had for their daughter has been reduced to a wish for survival. Though middle-aged and weak, he’ll put his life on the line using only his wits in order to protect his family.
