More Gintama TV Anime on the Way
Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama manga originally kicked off in 2004, and its final arc started this past July. Prior to that was the end of the latest TV anime adaptation in March, but the future is looking bright for Gintama despite these conclusions. In addition to the recently-announced live-action film, the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump reveals that a new TV anime adaptation is coming to TV Tokyo.
There isn’t much further information regarding the timing of the new series, but the issue of Shonen Jump also teased the climax to the manga’s final arc.
In the meantime, the live-action movie—directed by Yūichi Fukuda (Hentai Kamen) and starring Shun Oguri—opens in Japan sometime next year.
