Miyazaki’s Ponyo Opens In US on August 14

Ponyo or, as it’s known in its original Japanese release, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, really made an impression in its country of origin. Now, according to Walt Disney Pictures, Hayao Miyazaki’s latest celebrated work will be making its way to US theaters on August 14.
As with the previous domestic releases of Miyazaki’s films, Ponyo sports quite the English voice cast, including but not limited to Matt Damon, Tina Fey, and Liam Neeson. Debuting here over a year after its July 19 opening in Japan, it should be interesting to see how its reception goes stateside.
