Love Live! School Idol Festival Sequel Game Launches This Spring

love live!

This week it was revealed that the Love Live! School Idol Festival mobile game will be ending service after nearly a decade, but fans needn’t be too concerned. A sequel is also in the works, and now we already know that it’s lined up for a release sometime in spring 2023. Hey, that’s not too far off from the March 31 shutdown plans for the original!

There’s already a main key visual for the sequel—titled Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live!—which you can see above. Pre-registration is live, but at the time of this writing it’s for Japan only. New key visuals for each of the four Love Live! groups will be released at real-life locations in Japan on a weekly basis as they build up to the launch of the sequel.

All the songs from μ’s, Aquors, Nijigaku, Liella! and the various side groups with which Love Live! fans are familiar will be available in the new game, which will have the same gameplay experience everyone loves with an improved interface. There will also be stories with advanced features like chat, Sunrise-produced animated cutscenes and new UR illustrations for characters.

Hopefully we’ll hear about global plans soon, but either way it’s great to see the idol fun continue in a big way.
