A live-action TV drama adaptation was announced for writer Yuto Yotsuba and illustrator Ryo Ogawa’s Ya Boy Kongming! manga last month, including the news that Zhuge Kongming will be played by Osamu Mukai. Now we have another cast addition, with Moka Kamishiraishi set to play protagonist Eiko.
One of the live-action drama’s directors is Shuhei Shibue, and Nonji Nemoto is handling scripts. Ya Boy Kongming! will make its drama debut on Fuji TV in Japan this fall.
HIDIVE streamed the Ya Boy Kongming! anime as it aired and Kodansha USA publishes the manga digitally, describing it like so:
General of the Three Kingdoms, Kongming had struggled his whole life, facing countless battles that made him into the accomplished strategist he was. So on his deathbed, he wished only to be reborn into a peaceful world… and was sent straight to modern-day party-central, Tokyo! Can even a brilliant strategist like Kongming adapt to the wild beats and even wilder party people?!
