Live-action manga adaptation announcements are pretty common nowadays, but the source material for this next one is anything but. Writer Ipyao and illustrator Yujirou Koyama’s Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou is a true gag manga treat, inspiring an excellently absurd short-form anime adaptation last year. According to the manga’s official Twitter, a live-action film is now in the works.
Two new one-shot manga by Koyama are coming to Shonen Jump+ in celebration of the movie announcement, with the first available now and the second to follow next week. More information on the film’s cast and staff will be revealed soon.
