Tatsuo Nitta’s The Quiet Don is getting a live-action film project adaptation, and a new trailer and poster made their way online this week to hype it up. The project has four episodes on the way, the first two of which will open in Japanese theaters on May 12, followed by the next two the week after that. The project has Kento Yamaguchi at the helm and on the script, with Riuji Yoshizaki writing alongside, and you can see a new preview below.
Cast members include Kentaro Ito as Shizuya Kondo, Miwako Kakei as Akemi Akino, Motoko Fukami as Ryuji Naruto, Hiroki Miyake as Shinpachi Ikura and more.
The Quiet Don manga ran in the pages of Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha’s Manga Sunday magazine from 1989 to 2012, ultimately being collected in 108 volumes. A live-action video series adapted the manga from 1991 to 2002, and there was also an OVA in 1991, a live-action series in 1994 and two live-action films in 2000 and 2009.
